Welcome to FJM's monthly guide to the best new restaurants in Los Angeles, updated every month as the city's openings roll in. July 2026 is a loaded one: a world-famous Mexico City chef lands in Venice, a fine dining heavyweight goes intimate on Melrose, and the Valley keeps collecting wins. Here is every new restaurant in Los Angeles worth knowing right now, with our own New Restaurant Alerts linked where FJM has gone deeper.
The July 2026 List
San Damian (Venice): Enrique Olvera's Casamata group turns the former Atla space on Abbot Kinney into a Pacific Coast marisqueria, with chef Chuy Cervantes serving ceviches, seafood tlayudas, and kanpachi al pastor. Our full New Restaurant Alert has the details.
Alto (Studio City): South American open fire cooking on Ventura Boulevard that landed in the Michelin Guide within months of opening. The Valley's proudest new arrival, covered in our Alert.
Jacaranda (Melrose): Daniel Patterson goes intimate with a 30 seat, 10 course tasting menu leaning hard into vegetables and California sourcing, with pastry from Matt Tinder, per coverage in Wallpaper and others.
Lielle (Pico-Robertson): Chef Marcus Jernmark's 42 seat, four course market menu, where the 36 hour proofed Rouge de Bordeaux bread is already a signature, and the restaurant has already been added to the Michelin Guide.
Picala (West Adams): Acme Hospitality's LA debut with chef Luis Sierra, warm and Spanish influenced, with pan con tomate, tortilla Espanola, and a chicken and chorizo paella built for groups.
Pizzeria Sei (Palms): The cult Tokyo-Neapolitan pizzeria opens a second, larger dining room with about 30 seats, a patio, and new crispy Roman style pies alongside the puffy wood fired originals that made it famous.
Bad Roman (Beverly Hills): New York's Quality Branded brings its maximalist Italian playhouse west into the old Palm space, snake door handles, greyhound statues, and all.
Louisa (West Hollywood): The Taiwanese coffee chain with nearly 600 locations across Asia opens its first US branch on Santa Monica Boulevard, per The Infatuation's openings guide.
Rumi's Kitchen (Century City): The Atlanta based upscale Persian restaurant joins the Westfield dining roster this month with kabobs over saffron rice and shirazi salad.
Brodard (Long Beach): One of Orange County's most beloved Vietnamese restaurants, famous for its grilled pork spring rolls, crosses the county line into 2nd & PCH in mid July.
Jin Duck House (San Gabriel): The duck dynasty continues in the longtime Duck House space, a rebrand of Rowland Heights' Happy Duck House, with signature Peking duck and pancake wraps.
