Los Angeles Magazine's The Food Event Returns to Calamigos Ranch for Its 20th Year

Los Angeles magazine brings The Food Event back to the Malibu hills on Sunday, October 4, 2026, marking twenty years of what the publication calls its annual epicurean extravaganza. The afternoon runs from 1 to 4 p.m. at Calamigos Ranch, 327 Latigo Canyon Road, Malibu, CA 90265, and admission covers unlimited tastings from a roster of Los Angeles restaurants alongside boutique wine, craft cocktails, and spirits pours.
Early bird pricing is on sale through August 31, which leaves a narrow window before rates move.

The restaurant lineup
Fourteen restaurants are confirmed so far, and Los Angeles magazine says more will be added between now and October. The list already skews toward chef-driven independents rather than the usual festival regulars, and it pulls from the Valley, the South Bay, the Westside, and the Eastside in roughly equal measure.
Confirmed participants:
All About The Cinnamon (Sherman Oaks), the hip hop themed cinnamon roll bakery on Van Nuys Boulevard
Bertha Mae's Brownie Co. (Sherman Oaks)
Castaway (Burbank), the hillside steakhouse with the Himalayan salt dry-aging room
Dear Neighbor Handrolls (Los Angeles)
Descanso (Los Angeles), the Miracle Mile plancha taqueria
Fitoor (Santa Monica), contemporary Indian on Ocean Avenue
Fuegos LA (Los Angeles), Argentine empanadas and parrilla cooking on South Western
Love & Salt (Manhattan Beach)
Lucia (Los Angeles), the Fairfax Afro-Caribbean room from chef Cleophus Hethington
M Cafe (Los Angeles), contemporary macrobiotic
Maple Block Meat Co. (Culver City), peach wood smoked barbecue
STK Steakhouse (Los Angeles)
The Hideaway (Beverly Hills), the Rodeo Collection Mexican steakhouse
Wife and the Somm (Glassell Park), which earned a 2026 Wine Spectator Award of Excellence in June
Wine, spirits, and water
The pour list runs deep on small California producers.
Wineries confirmed: 10NINTHS, Alta Colina Vineyard & Winery, Anthem Winery and Vineyards, Chacewater Winery and Olive Mill, Clif Family Winery, Copia Vineyards, Dry Creek Vineyard, Fates' Lieutenant, Lyons Vineyard, Meadows Estate Vineyard and Winery, Mesa Del Sol, Modus Operandi Cellars, Montage Vineyards, Ojai Mountain, Paoletti Estates Winery, Robert Foley Vineyards, Vigo Cellars, and Williams Selyem.
On the spirits and water side: Dulce Vida, Empress Gin, SKORPIOS, Tequila Veinticinco, Acqua Panna, and S.Pellegrino.
Tickets and what to know
Tickets are sold through Eventbrite, where the listing confirms a three hour run time, free parking, and 21 and over admission. Valid photo ID is required and checked at the door. All sales are final and no refunds are issued.
A few practical notes for anyone planning the drive: Latigo Canyon Road climbs into the Santa Monica Mountains off Pacific Coast Highway, so budget extra time coming from the Valley or Downtown. The ranch has hosted large format events on its 130 acres for decades, and the tasting footprint spreads across open lawns and oak groves rather than a single tented hall. Dress for sun and uneven ground.
Los Angeles magazine notes that event details are subject to change, and the restaurant roster in particular should be treated as a work in progress. We will update this listing as additional participants are announced.
