BOBO Thai opened its first U.S. location in Silver Lake on August 2, bringing a menu built almost entirely around a single dish. The restaurant serves 12 distinct versions of Pad Thai from a space at 3705 Sunset Boulevard.

The brand belongs to TTFB, the Taiwanese restaurant group that operates in the United States as TTFB CA LLC. BOBO launched in Taiwan in 2024 as a break from traditional Thai dining there, built on those 12 Pad Thai variations along with Thai skewers served with house dipping sauces. The Taiwan rooms are known for bright pink and indigo interiors and an open kitchen.

Founder Charles Hsu has framed the concept around the gap between what most diners expect from Pad Thai and how widely the dish actually varies across Thailand.

The 12 Pad Thais

Each version carries a name rather than a number. The 1938 is built on pork belly and takes its name from the year Pad Thai became Thailand's national dish. Two Kings folds Tom Yum into the noodles, and Sweet Kisses returns to that flavor with shrimp, fresh herbs and crispy enoki mushrooms. Hot Stuff is the spiciest of the set, with smoky sausage, tofu, onions and chili peppers.

Easy Lover works in green curry with chicken, Thai basil, zucchini and makrut lime leaf. Gold Rush arrives in yellow curry with onions, cucumber and bean sprouts. The 2 A.M. nods to Bangkok late-night street food culture, and Happy Place is the kitchen's Pad See Ew.

Two vegetarian and two vegan options round out the list. Garden Party is a vegan Pad Thai with tofu and vegetables in tamarind sauce, and The Lucky One is a warm coconut noodle soup with tofu, king oyster mushrooms and lime. Customizations are available across the menu.

Beyond the noodles

The kitchen also runs street-style rice bowls and a section called Fun Bites that includes green curry eggplant fries, shrimp toast and charred grilled corn.

The bar leans on the same pantry. The BOBO Thai Spritz combines lychee, raspberry, rosewater and sparkling rose. Tom Kha Booze is built on gin with lemongrass and yuzu, and the Sabi Negroni is a yuzu-infused take on the classic. Non-alcoholic cocktails, wine, and Thai and local beers are also poured.
