Indian Food Festival Los Angeles Returns September 26 at a Bigger Outdoor Venue

The Indian Food Festival Los Angeles returns for a second year on Saturday, September 26, 2026, running from noon to 5 p.m. at the Compound Event Center. After a first edition that organizers say reached capacity, the festival has moved to a larger outdoor site and is billing itself as the region's biggest single-day celebration of Indian food and culture.

The producer is Radio5 Events, the South Asian event company behind Los Angeles' monthly Bollywood nights and the Holi & the Beach color festival. The daytime format pairs Indian food vendors and food trucks with DJ sets, a full bar, henna artists and a shopping bazaar, all in the open air.

A bigger venue, and it is in Commerce

The Compound Event Center sits at 2909 Supply Avenue. The address carries a Los Angeles 90040 zip, but the venue is physically in the City of Commerce, roughly 15 minutes southeast of downtown off the 5 and the 710. It is an industrial event complex that also operates as The Compound by Dirt Dog, with indoor rooms and a large outdoor yard that has hosted concerts, raves and community events.

Organizers are promoting an 8,000-person capacity for 2026, while the venue's own listings describe a 10,000-square-foot outdoor space. Either number is a significant step up from year one, so give yourself extra time for parking and the walk in.

What is planned

  • Indian food vendors and food trucks

  • Live DJ sets and cultural performances

  • Full bar serving cocktails and mocktails

  • Henna artists

  • A bazaar of merchandise and local vendors

  • A complimentary Bollywood dance class from Rangeela

  • Open air, all ages, noon to 5 p.m.

The lineup of vendors and DJs typically firms up closer to the date, and announcements roll out through the festival's social channels through September.

What happened in year one

The first Indian Food Festival ran on October 4, 2025 at beTRUE Studios on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood, a seven-hour open-air event that added live cooking demos, celebrity chef meet-and-greets on the VIP tier, henna and a full bar to the food vendor roster. Organizers say it sold out, and the jump to a larger outdoor site in year two follows directly from that.

Where it fits in LA's Indian dining moment

Los Angeles has been quietly building a deeper bench of Indian and Indian-adjacent restaurants. Chef Sanjay Rawat opened Brick Lane in the Arts District in May, a modern Indian room built around a wood-fired grill and tandoor inside a renovated 1920s warehouse. Avish Naran is following his Bib Gourmand sports bar Pijja Palace with Schezwan Club, an Indo-Chinese restaurant opening next door in Silver Lake. A festival that puts dozens of vendors on one field is a useful way to taste across regions in a single afternoon, and a good pointer toward where to eat the rest of the year.
