Some of the best Food Events in Los Angeles are the ones where the eating comes with a purpose, and few do it with more style than Plate by Plate. On Saturday, September 19, 2026, Plate by Plate Los Angeles returns to the Petersen Automotive Museum on Wilshire Boulevard, transforming one of the city's most iconic buildings into an all-inclusive tasting gala benefiting the Asian American community across Los Angeles and Orange County.
A Gala With 25 Years of Purpose Behind It
Plate by Plate is the signature fundraiser of Project by Project, an organization that has spent more than 25 years pairing culinary artistry with meaningful causes in the AAPI community. This year's campaign theme is Communities in Action, spotlighting the grassroots community-based organizations doing vital, often unseen work across LA and Orange County. The 2026 beneficiary partner is the Lincoln Heights Tutorial Program, a grassroots nonprofit that empowers at-risk youth from under-resourced communities in East Los Angeles, supporting students from predominantly first and second generation Asian American and Latino immigrant families.
The Experience: A Culinary Race Through the Petersen
Leaning into its automotive setting, the 2026 gala is built like a race. The culinary lineup is billed as the Pit Lane, where Southern California's top culinary drivers, restaurants, wineries, breweries, and spirit brands, line up to perform. Every ticket includes unlimited tastings, premium cocktails, wine, and beer, plus live entertainment.
The lineup announced so far:
VIP Paddock Club: 71 Above, Wolf & Crane, and Republique
GA Grandstand: Monet Goode, Ventura Spirits, Ysidro, Cafe Dulce, Mochimas, 626 Hospitality, Brique French Toastery, Flouring LA, The Plug, Ho Tok, Cognoscenti Coffee, and Castaway
General admission guests take the Main Grandstand on the Petersen's fourth floor Rooftop Penthouse and Terrace, with panoramic views of the LA skyline as the city lights come alive. VIP pass holders get the PbP Paddock Club on the second floor, with 6:00 PM early entry, lounge seating, VIP exclusive culinary partners, and a gift bag.
