Some nights in Los Angeles transcend the ordinary. Saturday, July 11, 2026 promises to be one of them.
The Concern Foundation's 51st Annual Block Party returns with its boldest theme yet: Concern on Safari: Lions, Tigers & Cures, turning the legendary backlot of Paramount Studios Hollywood into a sprawling, one-night expedition through some of the best food, drink, music, and entertainment this city has to offer, all in service of cancer research.
For Food Journal Magazine, this event holds a special place for not only some of the best food in Los Angeles and guess what, It is not just a fundraiser. It is one of the great food events in Los Angeles, a single evening where more than 70 restaurants, breweries, wineries, spirit brands, and beverage partners converge on one iconic location to feed a crowd of more than 4,000 guests, all united behind a cause that matters. Every bite, every sip, and every bid at the auction supports groundbreaking cancer research that brings us closer to a cure.
Doors open at 6:00 PM and the adventure runs until 11:00 PM at Paramount Studios Hollywood, 5555 Melrose Avenue, Los Angeles.
The Restaurants
The 2026 Block Party features one of the most diverse single-night restaurant lineups in Los Angeles, spanning Japanese barbecue, soul food, plant-based cuisine, Brazilian churrasco, ramen, and well beyond. All of the following restaurants are donating their time and product to the Concern Foundation's mission.

The Honoree
This year's event pays special tribute to Jackie Gottlieb, Concern Foundation Co-Founder and current Board Chair, who will receive the prestigious Steve R. Freed Spirit of Concern Volunteer Leadership Award in recognition of decades of extraordinary service and dedication to the fight against cancer. The safari theme itself is a tribute to her legacy and her decades of work helping build one of Los Angeles' most beloved philanthropic institutions.

About the Concern Foundation
Founded in 1968 by fifteen Los Angeles couples determined to act when a dear friend was diagnosed with breast cancer at age 35, the Concern Foundation has grown into a powerful independent force in cancer research funding. With a focus on immunology, immunotherapy, genetics, and cell biology, the Foundation targets post-doctoral scientists and provides salary support for innovative research projects. With an administrative overhead of just 5%, the vast majority of every dollar raised goes directly to research, locally, nationally, and internationally.
