Wife and the Somm Debuts "Simplicity of Summer" Supper Series in Glassell Park

Glassell Park's Wife and the Somm is leaning into peak California harvest season with a new limited-time prix-fixe menu built around what's coming off the farm right now. The "Supper Series: Simplicity of Summer" launches Wednesday, July 15 and runs through Sunday, July 26, offering a three-course dinner for $55 per person alongside two optional wine programs.
Chef Frank Ryan Saporito's menu reads like a summer market list turned into dinner. First-course selections include grilled and chilled artichoke hearts with salsa macha verde, aged pecorino, and wild mint, or a Hokkaido scallop plated with cucumber sunomono, grilled apricot, and toasted sesame. The second course leans further into produce, with a choice of local watermelon (queso fresco, opal basil oil, toasted pepitas, cilantro blossom) or macerated local peaches with malt vinaigrette, charred torpedo onion, and rose geranium. Third courses land on either wagyu flank steak with local carrot purée and stone fruit agro dolce, or pan-roasted local halibut with caramelized onion purée, heirloom cherry tomato confit, and scallion oil.
Sommelier Chris Lucchese built out two pairing options to run alongside the food. The $25 Summer Wine Flight leans toward bright, refreshing seasonal pours, while the $45 Somm Select Wine Pairing matches a specific glass to each course.
The prix-fixe is available throughout the two-week window during regular service, with the restaurant asking that the whole table participate to keep the kitchen tight. Wife and the Somm serves dinner Wednesday and Thursday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday brunch runs 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
