Casa Dani: Next Level Mediterranean in Century City

Updated: 1 day ago

Nestled in the heart of Westfield Century City, Casa Dani is more than just a restaurant it’s a culinary journey that transports diners to the sun-drenched coasts of Andalusia. Helmed by the visionary Chef Dani García, a three-Michelin-starred icon, and executed with precision by SBE group's Head of Culinary Luis Mayoral and his talented team, Casa Dani offers an unforgettable dining experience that blends tradition, innovation, and storytelling. We took a trip to visit Casa Dani and I must admit, we left the place very happy and honestly couldn't stop talking about it the entire way home. This is absolutely some of the best food in Los Angeles!

A Warm Welcome to Dani’s Culinary Home

True to its name, Casa Dani, “Dani’s House" invites guests into a space that feels both intimate and elevated. The restaurant’s design mirrors the Mediterranean charm of southern Spain, with terracotta tones, natural textures, and lush greenery creating a warm, inviting ambiance. The open kitchen adds a touch of theater, allowing diners to witness the artistry behind each dish.

But Casa Dani is more than its stunning interiors. It’s a reflection of Chef Dani García’s culinary philosophy: a harmonious blend of nostalgia and creativity. Born in Marbella and deeply influenced by Andalusian traditions, García has spent over two decades redefining Spanish cuisine. His dishes are rooted in memory yet alive with global inspiration, offering a fresh perspective on Mediterranean dining.

A Menu That Tells a Story

Casa Dani’s menu is a love letter to Andalusia, reimagined with modern flair. Each dish is crafted with intention, showcasing the finest ingredients and García’s technical mastery. During our visit, we had the pleasure of sampling a variety of dishes, each more captivating than the last.

We began with the Grilled California Avocado, a vibrant starter featuring California-grown avocados, bell peppers, feta “salpicón,” cilantro pesto, and pine nuts. This is a great way to start the meal and could be a dish of its own. I have never had grilled avocado before this!

The Tomato Tartare, made with a medley of sun-dried and fresh tomatoes sourced from the Santa Monica Farmers Market, was a celebration of local produce. Very delicious!

Seafood lovers will be enchanted by the Tuna Porterhouse Carpaccio, a delicate trio of akami, chu-toro, and o-toro from Baja California, drizzled with Arbequina olive oil. A very simple yet perfect way to start your meal.

The Pez Limón, a dish of hamachi paired with heirloom tomatoes and a strawberry vinaigrette, was a refreshing highlight.

For those seeking comfort food with a fluffy twist, the Oxtail Brioche is a must-try. I first tried this at the La Magazines "Best Restaurant 2026" celebration event! It was both delicious and almost literally melted in your mouth. This indulgent creation features slow-braised oxtail and wild mushrooms layered on a bao-style brioche bun, finished with Dani’s signature bull sauce. I could eat a dozen of these at any time of the day!

The Patatas Bravas, a classic Spanish dish, delivered the perfect balance of spicy tomato sauce and garlic aioli on crispy potato pillows.

Showstopping Favorites

While every dish impressed, a few stood out as unforgettable. The Ribeye Paella was a revelation. a 16oz Australian Wagyu ribeye served over boba rice infused with homemade chicken stock and garnished with smoked rosemary. This dish redefines paella, combining bold flavors with impeccable execution. Oh and by the way, they actually lit the rosemary and smoked the paella tableside!

Equally remarkable was La Fiesta Mediterránea, a seafood pasta that lives up to its name, “The Mediterranean Party.” Made with Paccheri pasta (very large, tube-shaped pasta from the Campania region of southern Italy, the same region as Naples) and an intense pescatora sauce, it features lobster, prawns, scallops, clams, and mussels, enriched with chili oil, French butter, and fresh herbs served in a giant roasting pan with tongs. It’s a dish that captures the essence of the Mediterranean in every bite.

And then there was dessert. The Burnt Basque Cheesecake, made with Trochon cheese, was a creamy, caramelized delight.

But the true star was Dani’s Favorite Churro, a masterpiece of salted miso toffee, Chantilly (sweetened whipped cream flavored with vanilla) , and banana ice cream. I would return to Casa Dani for this dessert alone. One of the best desserts I have ever had!!! AMAZING!!!!!
