Jeremy Fox Is Reopening Birdie G's Inside the Fairmont Century Plaza

Birdie G's closed in Santa Monica at the end of 2025 after six years. Jeremy Fox is bringing it back in Century City, inside the Fairmont Century Plaza, as an all day restaurant rather than a dinner house. Los Angeles Magazine first reported the move to the hotel.

What is coming back

Per the restaurant's own site, the new Birdie G's will run classic American cooking and a cocktail program across the full day: pastries and coffee at breakfast, lunch and brunch with patio seating, then steaks, fish and pasta at dinner.

Two signatures are returning:

  • The matzo ball soup

  • The rose petal pie

Those two dishes did a lot of work building the Santa Monica restaurant's reputation, and keeping them is a signal that this is a relocation rather than a reinvention.

What we have our eye on

A hotel lobby is a different room than a Santa Monica side street, and all day service is a different discipline than dinner only. The question we are most curious about is breakfast, which is the hardest service to make feel like a destination and the one that will decide whether this version of Birdie G's belongs to the neighborhood or to the hotel.

Century City keeps filling in

The neighborhood has been adding rooms steadily. Casa Dani brought Michelin pedigree Mediterranean cooking to the mall level, and Rumi's Kitchen opened with a rooftop built as a Persian garden.

Visiting

Birdie G's will be at the Fairmont Century Plaza, 2025 Avenue of the Stars, Los Angeles, CA 90067. No opening date has been announced. The restaurant is collecting email signups on its own site, which is where the date will land first.
